Juliš and Schick training in PSV Eindhoven

The perspective players of Sparta Prague football club have recently completed a four-day training camp in the renowned academy of the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. During their stay, both players had the opportunity to compare their skills with the players of the said club of the same age.
Lukáš Juliš is a fifteen years old forward, who scored nineteen goals this season. He is a stable member of the Czech U-16 national team. Patrik Schick, two years younger, is a school-age junior, but he regularly plays in a higher age category. He also primarily plays in the position of forward.
Martin Říha was present in Eindhoven together with the players for the opportunity to see them in action. “If a young football player excels in his category, he should have a chance to go abroad and experience micro-cycle training for one week in the local conditions. We have intentionally chosen the Dutch football school of PSV Eindhoven. With regard to the fact that this was not our first cooperation together, we knew what to expect. However we were interested especially in the response of the players themselves.
During the week, the players had an opportunity to test a different approach to the training process they know from the Czech Republic. “Several coaches were present in each training unit, keeping the support focused on the players during exercises and training games. They forced the players to be active all the time, to play offensively and to assert themselves one on one (to build their self-conscientiousness). Most of the training units were performed using specific means, i.e. with the ball, in particular using repetitive methods (building player’s skills)”, commented Říha about the training program.
And how did our players succeed in such hard competition? “Our boys left a very good impression during their stay, but it does not mean that they are going to leave our club immediately. The reason for the said training was in particular to acquire new knowledge and experience to help them in their future sport career”, summarised Říha.
