9.9.2010

The Under-21 national football team managed to do well in the last two games of the European Championship qualification group after a draw at home with Germany, subsequently defeated Iceland, and have thus made it to November's qualification play-offs.

The last qualification game, where the Czech Republic were playing Iceland and which was a direct battle for the victory in the group, saw Marek Štěch as the goalkeeper and Radek Dejmek as central defender. Both players' performance contributed to the team’s 3:1 victory.

The prestigious game between Serbia and Croatia saw the debut of Serbia’s Under-21 team’s Miloš Bosančič , whose pass contributed to his team's 2:2 draw.

The Czech Republic’s under-19 team performed much worse and failed to succeed in the preparatory two-legged game in Switzerland. The Czech team drew in the first match, only to lose 0:3 in the second leg. The Czech team’s sole goal was made by Ladislav Krejčí , whose plans were clear. Krejčí is also one of the handful of players who appeared in both games.
